Health Surveillance

Medical Assessments

Individuals who undertake physically arduous occupations, or are exposed to environmental hazards, are required to have routine medical assessments; e.g. divers, pilots, offshore workers, etc. Such individuals will typically have assessments at the following times:

In addition they may also have additional assessments following specific exposures to increased levels of the hazards that they face.

The H-SURV™ System provides the data required my the Doctor, or Occupational Health Practitioner, for these assessments as part of a comprehensive Health Surveillance Programme.

In addition to the example timings shown above employers/operators may feel it appropriate to increase the frequency of assessments for personnel exposed to particularly high levels of Whole Body Vibration and Repeated Shock exposure, e.g. 6 month intervals.

It should also be considered that as the H-SURV™ System monitors HSC motion it can be set-up to indicate where individuals have received particularly high doses of WBV/RS and therefore exposure criteria values may be established to indicate that the individuals should receive additional medical assessments to check that they are in good health following the increased exposure. This procedure also demonstrate the employers duty-of-care following exposures that increase the risk of injury.
