The H-Surv™ System
Crew Health Monitoring
The purpose of Health Surveillance is reduce the risk of injury to the individual, therefore employers/operators, or their medical representatives, need to be able to identify when an individual is at an increasing risk of injury or ill-health.
Therefore Health Surveillance programmes must endeavor to identify the signs of an increased risk of injury or ill-health. This may be achieved via the appropriate epidemiological studies but this quantitative evidence is currently not available for HSC operators and passengers.
Thus Health Surveillance systems should be designed to collect epidemiological data to develop the ability to predict the risk of injury from HSC motion exposure, but in the mean time the health surveillance system must collect data from the crew and passengers that can be used to identify and track changes to the individuals health status. The H-SURV™ System, developed by STR tracks the HSC occupants health status using the following features:
- RFID tagging.
- Pain & Soreness.
- Overall health score.
- Injuries and attendance for medical assessment and treatment (e.g. physiotherapy).
